RADIO PROGRAMMES (Commissioned by South African Broadcasting Corporation)
Approximately FIVE HUNDRED 15-minute Nursery & Junior School Radio Programmes, consisting of stories & songs, all written by Betty Misheiker. Many of these programmes have been put on the South African Broadcasting Service's Transcription Service. These programmes have been put on the air weekly, uninterruptedly since 1956.

WHAT D'YOU KNOW: TWENTY SIX 15-minute Programmes for Teenagers. Script, lyrics & music by Betty Misheiker

One of these Programmes was South Africa’s entry for the JAPAN PRIZE INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMME CONTEST held in Sopporo, Japan and WON the coveted JAPAN MINISTER OF EDUCATION PRIZE as the best of all programmes entered under the heading of Secondary Education. 69 countries competed. During the presentation Ceremony, this programme was referred to as “an example of how exciting and joyous a process learning can be” (1972).

The above Series has been repeated several times and 13 of these programmes have been made available to the rest of the world by the S.A.B.C on its Transcription Service.
